A few more pics from Halloween....

This was how Thomas handled the last half of trick or treating. NO hood. The coil stayed on with no hood knocking it off...over and over again. You notice the little strut he has...that's the way he walks all the time. Talk about a major attitude!!!

Thomas was non-stop around the neighborhood....his little tail kept flapping back and forth!!! (the little red heart on the back says "little stinker")

My sweet Jonathan.....dressed up as a Ninja!!! Thomas got a kick out of Jonathan all dressed up and doing his ninja/karate moves.

Halloween and the annoying coil

Thomas all ready for trick or treating...

I just love the back of the costume.....

Side View.....

My boys....skunk and ninja (skunk fu...that is what Jonathan called them)

this was in the neighbors yard...he was DONE!

We just got back home from having a wonderful Trick or Treating over at my Mom's. I was doubtful that tonite would be successful...mostly due to Jonathan and Thomas being away this morning at 430am playing throw toys back and forth to each other (until Mom came in and made them both go back to bed). I tried to put Thomas' costume on earlier today to show my in-laws but he wanted nothing to do with it. By late afternoon Thomas was in quite a mood so I told Jim that we would dress the boys up, take them over to my Mom's and if things didnt work out we would come back home.

Let me tell you.....Thomas LOVED trick or treating. When Jonathan was younger he didnt care for it too much. He would go to a few houses and than call it quits. NOT Thomas!!!! He got the hang of it REALLY quick. He had no problem putting his costume on...no problem carrying his bag (to the first few houses) and he loved going to all the different people and having them give him all kinds of attention (almost everyone we went to made a comment on how adorable Thomas was in his costume). There was only one problem....the hood to his costume kept knocking his coil off. After repeatedly putting the coil back on (and Jim telling me that Thomas was fine with it off) I took the hood off and the coil stayed on (for the most part). With his hearing on he was waving HI and BYE to people. He was even saying Hello, Bye Bye and Thank you (it came out ...ank u) but it was adorable. Luckily my Mom was walking with us so she kept Jonathan about a house ahead of us so he wouldnt hear all the people gush over Thomas.

We must have went to atleast 60 houses....Thomas went to each and every one. There were a few with some steps that we would try to get him to avoid but if he seen his brother go up than he had to follow.

One house had a few ladies sitting in chairs in the front yard. We walked up and Thomas said "HI" and walked over to an empty chair and climbed up, sat down and started smiling at all the ladies. That was it!!!! Thomas made their day. They laughed and fawned all over him. He was in his glory.

Thomas made it to the house right before my Mom's. He picked up his candy, walked into the middle of the neighbor's lawn and sat down. I think he had enough by than.

Silly me thought tonight was going to be a wash...and it ended up being a fantastic experience for all of us. Except for that annoying coil ....but it was well worth it. To hear Thomas saying all those words and seeing him listening intently to what people were saying to him. Thank goodness for Cochlear Implants!!!!

Video...(hope it works)

Thomas' 1st time trying to say "I Love You" than my camera battery ran out. We were at Cedar Point waiting for Daddy and Jonathan to get off of a ride.

Thomas and his love of sheep.....

Again, its been awhile since I have written anything. Thomas is doing well. We were at the zoo this past Friday and Thomas loved it. Except for when we were in the sheep area and Thomas started doing his circles and a sheep came away from the pack and was staring at him. Out of the blue the sheep put his head down, ran towards Thomas and head butted him. Thomas flew up in the air and landed right on his back. The magnet on his coil is a bit dented, so he must have hit his head when he fell. He had his 18mth check up today (along with 3 shots) and his pediatrician said he looks fine. He did bite his lip pretty hard and it bled for a while. We filled out an incident report but thats it.

We went to Cedar Point this past Sunday and Thomas and Jonathan both had a fantastic time. It will be our last visit until next year (Daddy already bought season tickets for next year...YEAH) since we have the Ohio Chapter of AG Bell Conference this Saturday down in Columbus. I am VERY excited about this. It is our first conference and it sounds like it will be VERY informative for both Jim and I. The boys are staying with my Mom so they will have fun, too!

Thomas is doing well with both his receptive and spoken language. Yesterday he said "I love you" to me (after me repeating it to him...over and over). It came out "A Lu U" but it was still adorable and it made tear up. He has been wearing his new babyworn gear and although he has only been wearing it for a few days when the coil falls off he immediately notices and runs over to me and wants it back on. He is much more aware of his hearing now and realized when the coil is off he can't hear.

Thomas is 33" tall and almost 24lbs. He is a bit over 25% in weight and over 75% in height. Tall and thin.....I have no idea where he gets that from!!! lol The Dr. said that Thomas is doing well....he is very healthy and looks great. Once I find out how, I am going to put some video up. Thomas is such a funny, little goofball. I love to watch Jonathan and Thomas interact and play, it's fantastic. All the worrying I did when I was pregnant about how the big age gap was going to effect both of them was wasted. Of course, it's not always perfect. Thomas likes to grab Jonathan's stuff and Jonathan likes to bug Thomas, but all in all they get along great.

This past month has been pretty crazy. With my Stepfather passing away 9/18, my Mom moving, Jerry's truck getting stolen....UGH....I am glad things are starting to calm down a bit (knock on wood). The holidays are right around the corner and I LOVE it. I love being around family and friends and the holidays are best time for all of us. I pray that everyone stays healthy and happy for the rest of the year and for years to come.

It's been awhile...

since our last update. My Stepfather passed away suddenly on Sept. 18th. My Mom has been a wreck so I have been trying to help her out whenever/wherever possible. Which has been keeping me very busy.
Thomas is doing great. I think he said his first "bad" word the other day. It was while we were driving and someone cut me off and something came flying out of my mouth and Thomas repeated what I had said. It was great that he heard me but it wasnt great what he heard. I have to watch myself!!!
Jonathan has been sick the past week. High fever afternoon/night but in the morning he has been fine. So, of course, Thomas starts with the high fever Friday. Took them both to the dr. and got the 'it must be something viral" diagnosis. Friday night I go to take Jonathan to bed around 1030 (he had fallen asleep on the couch and I was busy watching the Indians game) and I walk into the room and Thomas was sitting there staring a hole through me. I went to pick him up and i have NEVER felt a child so hot. Scared the crap out of me. Gave him a dose of motrin and stuck him in a luke warm bath. called the nurse hotline and she told me to take him to the ER. Got to the ER around 11pm...his temp was a bit under 102. We decided to leave a bit after 1am...after sitting in the waiting room for 2hrs...they werent too concerned about Thomas so we decided to leave. If this ever happens again I am taking him to University.
Thomas went to sleep yesterday about 630pm. It is 1022am and he is still asleep. No nap today...that's for sure!!!! I may go wake him up when I am done typing this. He is starting to make me nervous!!!!
