I just love the back of the costume.....

My boys....skunk and ninja (skunk fu...that is what Jonathan called them)

this was in the neighbors yard...he was DONE!

We just got back home from having a wonderful Trick or Treating over at my Mom's. I was doubtful that tonite would be successful...mostly due to Jonathan and Thomas being away this morning at 430am playing throw toys back and forth to each other (until Mom came in and made them both go back to bed). I tried to put Thomas' costume on earlier today to show my in-laws but he wanted nothing to do with it. By late afternoon Thomas was in quite a mood so I told Jim that we would dress the boys up, take them over to my Mom's and if things didnt work out we would come back home.
Let me tell you.....Thomas LOVED trick or treating. When Jonathan was younger he didnt care for it too much. He would go to a few houses and than call it quits. NOT Thomas!!!! He got the hang of it REALLY quick. He had no problem putting his costume on...no problem carrying his bag (to the first few houses) and he loved going to all the different people and having them give him all kinds of attention (almost everyone we went to made a comment on how adorable Thomas was in his costume). There was only one problem....the hood to his costume kept knocking his coil off. After repeatedly putting the coil back on (and Jim telling me that Thomas was fine with it off) I took the hood off and the coil stayed on (for the most part). With his hearing on he was waving HI and BYE to people. He was even saying Hello, Bye Bye and Thank you (it came out ...ank u) but it was adorable. Luckily my Mom was walking with us so she kept Jonathan about a house ahead of us so he wouldnt hear all the people gush over Thomas.
We must have went to atleast 60 houses....Thomas went to each and every one. There were a few with some steps that we would try to get him to avoid but if he seen his brother go up than he had to follow.
One house had a few ladies sitting in chairs in the front yard. We walked up and Thomas said "HI" and walked over to an empty chair and climbed up, sat down and started smiling at all the ladies. That was it!!!! Thomas made their day. They laughed and fawned all over him. He was in his glory.
Thomas made it to the house right before my Mom's. He picked up his candy, walked into the middle of the neighbor's lawn and sat down. I think he had enough by than.
Silly me thought tonight was going to be a wash...and it ended up being a fantastic experience for all of us. Except for that annoying coil ....but it was well worth it. To hear Thomas saying all those words and seeing him listening intently to what people were saying to him. Thank goodness for Cochlear Implants!!!!
