First 2weeks of summer vacation

I can't believe its only been two weeks ~ it feels a bit longer than that (already).
Although I love having both of my boys home all day with me it amazes me how much they torment each other. One minute they can be sitting and playing with their toys or watching a program and within seconds I hear screaming and yelling and than "MOOOOOOMMMMMM". UGH~
To think that I worried that the age gap between Jonathan and Thomas would cause problems (they would have nothing in common, not play with each other, not like each other, etc) they fight like my brothers used to (they are 18mths apart). At times, to quiet things down, I say 2 little words to Jonathan "Summer Camp" and he stops pestering his little brother.
A few days ago I was cooking dinner and the boys were playing in the living room. All was peaceful, too peaceful. Within minutes of me realizing the sweet quietness I hear:
"NOOO Jonathan" (sounds like jontun)
..... i hear Jonathan laughing....
"MOOOOOMMMMM"
....Jonathan saying "stop it Thomas"
Than I hear Thomas say
"UGH Jontun..leave me alone NOW" I see Thomas walk through the kitchen, into his room and shut his door.
Too funny!
Everyday it seems like Thomas is adding more words to his sentences. As long as Jonathan keeps pestering him ~ his vocabulary will keep growing! lol
In this picture Thomas was licking a blue sucker, which turned his mouth and lips blue (which happens to be his favorite color). I told Thomas to go to the mirror and look at his mouth....he walked over and said 'Hey Mom...I got boo whips..look...boo whips ~ boo my favorite color". I LOVED the way he said "blue lips"...every time we visited another family member I asked Thomas to tell them what happened to his mouth when he ate his sucker. He would tell them the story and than end up "boo whips".
I am truly amazed at how well he is progressing ~~ all the pestering and ticking each off is only a teeny part of our day. To watch the boys play and talk and trade Pokemon cards ~ its absolutely priceless!

End of School

Tuesday was the last day of school for Jonathan, wednesday was Thomas' last day. The only constant that remains for the summer are Thomas' SLP appointments. He went to see his surgeon this past Tuesday...everything is fine..we go back in December. Thomas doesnt have another mapping until August (right before preschool starts) ~ soooo (knock on wood) we have no mappings or dr. appointments for the entire summer!!!! This is the first time since Thomas was born that we have not had any appointments. Don't get me wrong, I love his audiologist and otolaryngologist, but it will be nice to plan outings and vacations without having to plan around dr. visits. The only days we have to plan around are June 23rd (a concert I am going to) and July 18th (cousins grad party).
Everyone is doing well ~ Jonathan was bummed when he came home from school on Tuesday ~ he quickly recovered!! Although yesterday's weather stank...a high of 59 and rain all day. YUCK. Not a great way to start summer vacation. Today is a little nicer..atleast the sun is out!
Thomas' vocabulary is absolutly amazing. I love how we can all be sitting together and having a conversation ~ and Thomas keeps up with it. Answering questions, giving us his opinions, asking questions and tellind us stories. When Thomas is telling me something sometimes Jonathan will interupt, I used to have to remind Jonathan to wait his turn, not any mroe! Thomas will tell him "Stop Jonathan, me talking to Mom now"..I LOVE IT!!!!
We were at Thomas' school the other day waiting for his SLP to come out and get him....Thomas and i were sitting on one of the couches reading a book and the preschoolers were being exceptionally loud ~ Thomas looked over at me and said "UGH..I hate kids". Trying my best not to laugh I reminded Thomas that "hate" was not a nice word and that he didnt actually "hate" the kids, but he was upset that he couldnt hear me read the story. So he said "Sorry kids...i not hate you...be quiet". My little sweatheart.
I am looking forward to a very nice summer with my family. I hope all of you have a very nice summer, too!
