TV Star

Thomas and I were asked to be in an internal fundraising video a few months ago for UH. I did blog about it but for some reason it's not showing up. I'll find it on YouTube and post again.
We watched the video and it was fantastic (not just because Thomas was included..lol). We are in it for a few seconds (its actually about 5 minutes long) but it was done really well.
In June we were down in South Carolina visiting my sister in law for her birthday and I received a call from UH asking if Thomas and I would be interested in participating in a media profile for his surgeon (Dr. Megerian). I thought about it for a little while and decided to go for it! Dr. Megerian is an outstanding Doctor and if telling Thomas' story can help just 1 person than it would be worth it!
So, early July we headed down to UH's main campus and I was interviewed, with and without Thomas. Dr. M was interviewed than we went to a local park and we were recorded playing ~ Thomas being a normal kid.
Last week the call came in that the commercial would be aired Thursday (8/5) during the 11pm news and played again Saturday and Sunday during the 9am news. Although I cringe at the thought of being on tv I thought that the end product was great. They condensed 4hrs of recordings into less than 2 minutes ~ at the end of the video Thomas says "I hear real good"....its hard to hear exactly what he said. He was being a bit of a stinker and the 1st time he said " I love to hear thank you Dr" the camera wasn't recording....we tried our darnedest to get him to repeat it but Thomas being Thomas...he knew that we REALLY wanted him to say that and he was being goofy! Oh well!
On Saturday my Aunt took the boys to our church festival (my Grandma was in her final hours of life so we were sitting with her...my Aunt was nice enough to take the boys out to give them a little break). When they came back my Aunt told me that Thomas got recognized! A woman came up to them and asked my Aunt if that was the little boy who was on TV last night...they both said Yes! Thomas was being as sweet as could be and smiled at the woman and talked with her for a little bit!
When I received the dvd I'll upload it and post it on the blog!
