Throwing Snow Balls

I took this video a few weeks. My brothers were outside playing in the snow with Jonathan and Thomas. I was lucky enough to watch from inside the house. As I sat by the window I kept getting snowballs thrown at me (the window was shut). Thomas walked over to the window so I opened it up to see what he wanted ~

I think this is amazing....He can hear me and understand what I'm saying even though he is outside and I am inside, there is a bunch of background noise and he has two thick, winter hats on. Thanks again to the miracle of a Cochlear Implant!

Sneaky Therapy??

I try everyday to get a little bit of actual sit down therapy with Thomas. I also try to sneak in a little bit of teaching while we play. Yesterday we didnt do any "sit down" therapy since he had his school SLP session and his session with his TOD. We're working on "wh" questions and locations (behind/in front/first/last/etc).
Yesterday we were playing with his Batman figures and a few minutes deep into play I start with "Too bad Batman...I'm going to stay here NEXT to your batcave"....."Oh no, I fell BEHIND Mr. Freeze's house"...a few minutes later I start to say something about being the "Last" one to do something ~ all of a sudden he looks at me and says "Mom, you need to stop that, I just want to play". Poor kid...he just wanted to play Batman toys ~ I stopped purposely emphasizing things and just played!
Today on our way to the hospital we passed Thomas' school. As we were passing the street that its on he says to me "Mom, there's my school"...Yep, Thomas ~ that is your school! "Mom~ I love my school" I love your school too Thomas. "My school is just perfect, Mom. Too bad Jonathan's school isnt perfect like my school (he says this last part while giving a sinister little laugh)". I explain to Thomas that
both of their schools are very good and that I love both of them. Thomas' response "Jonathan's school is nice ~ too bad its not perfect". I love that little boy!!!
